A Pyrrhic victory occurs when someone wins in immediate contest or battle, but at too high a price in the big picture. Some people are pouring their lives into pursuing goals which may be won -- but at too great a cost in the big picture. A wise person, the child of God, must choose pursuit of godliness over the passing gain of this world.
