On Memorial Day weekend it is appropriate to remember those who gave their lives for our country and the good for which our country has stood. As Christians, we are thankful that we have been able to live in quietness and peace. The children of Israel were told to seek the welfare of the city where they lived (Jer 29:7), and it is also appropriate for us to pray for our nation and its leaders.
