It is natural for us to grieve because of the passing of our loved ones. We miss them and we can have an overwhelming sense of loss. In today's passage Jesus finds out that his friend is sick. However, rather than rushing to heal him, Jesus waited two days. Jesus had a higher purpose than preventing grief and sense of loss. He wanted to reveal that He held ultimate authority to overcome death.
