Jesus is the Good Shepherd

In contrast to the terrible shepherds of Ezekiel 34, who exploited and took advantage of the sheep under their care, Jesus introduced himself in John 10 as the Good Shepherd. Others before Him came to steal, kill and destroy, but He came to give abundant life to his sheep, and ultimately to give his life in their behalf.
